Mav 4 Life
“Your Friend for Life”
Mav-4-Life is an organization that has been created with the objective of assisting former Mesa State College students in times of need. The intention is that Mav-4-Life will provide assistance in the form of, but potentially not limited to, temporary financial aid, confidential problem-solving in a collaborative setting, one-time transportation or on an ongoing basis, meals, clothing and other basic needs which may arise. The assistance will continue until the need(s) of an alumnus is/are met. Once an alumni’s status is no longer one of need, he/she would then become a “donor” for the Mav-4-Life organization. As a “donor,” one would then, in turn, provide the services he/she had previously received.
To qualify for the services of Mav-4-Life, an alumnus would need to document and substantiate the need(s) that is/are currently at a deficit. The requirements of such documentation would be dependent upon the need. The decision by Mav-4-Life to provide services would lenient as the objective of this organization is to provide assistance in a safe, nurturing environment.
The funds used for assisting alumnus in temporary financial need would be derived from donations from other Mesa State alumnus, private and confidential donation, and other resources not yet identified. The confidential problem-solving collaboration would be provided by “donors” with the clause that the services are not being slated as “professional counseling,” rather with the objective of identifying potential solutions. If professional services are deemed necessary, then Mav-4-Life would engage in finding the proper resource to meet the current need. Transportation would be provided by “donors” and potential donated community services (shuttles, taxi, etc.) with all insurance and licensing requirements being fully met and documented. The remaining services would be either met by “donors,” private resources, and/or fund raising events.
